Every year I take on a cycling challenge to raise much-needed funds to continue the work of the charity I run, Coventry Youth for Christ.
This year I'm not attempting a ride - I'm attempting 3!!
In April I'll be attempting to cycle 240 miles, non-stop, in just 24hrs. With a good friend we'll be cycling from Coventry to Norfolk and back in less than a day, and all unsupported.
Then in May, I'll be joining hundreds of others to complete the Birmingham Velo 100 mile cycling challenge - 100 miles on closed roads all around the west midlands.
And then finally, the big one - with a team of 8 cyclists, I'll be re-attempting last year's ride - cycling from Land's End to John O'Groats in just 64 hours. We came so close last year but had to stop due to dangerous weather conditions when we hit Glen Coe, but this year we're determined to complete what we set out to do!!
So why am I doing all this? One simple reason....
Because I (along with my amazing team at Coventry Youth for Christ) believe that every young person has value and creative potential.
The Rock-Up project gives young people in local schools opportunities to develop musical skills, express themselves creatively and explore some of life's big questions.
Rock-Up is totally free to Coventry schools and run in partnership with Youth for Christ's network of youth cafes in local churches.
It's amazing to see young people reaching their potential and raising their aspirations through music. Please help me to raise funds so that the charity can continue to expand their work in schools across Coventry by pledging a one-off (or ideally monthly) financial contribution towards this amazing project.
