Story
This coming May I'm rowing constantly for 500 miles, 2 hours on 2 hours off from London to Paris, 2 teams competing over 6 days to be the first to the Eiffel Tower.
The race will take us down the Thames, into and across the English Channel and then up the Seine on the spring tide to Paris.
There are only 3 days each year when the spring tide surge enables teams to row up the currents at the mouth of the Seine - which is why more people have climbed Everest and been into space than have rowed to Paris!
Why I hear you say? Well there's two teams and I'm part of the team raising money for Help For Heroes. In April 2011 I went on a climb up one of the highest peaks in Nepal for Help For Heroes which resulted in me fracturing my neck and spine, this has now classed me as medically unfit to join the Royal Marines Commandos. This is my comeback to prove to myself and others that I am physically and mentally as strong as ever.
100% of Donations will go straight to Help For Heroes, I appreciate anything big or small as it all will go to a great cause.
Thank you, Jonny Pattenden.
