Story
My name is Jon. Me and my best friend Dan are looking to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis society. It’s been on our minds to do a little something for the MS Society for a while now. It provides support, funds ground breaking research and campaigns constantly to find a cure for a terrible disease.
Without getting too gloomy, MS has always been a part of my life. My mum was diagnosed with it on my 8th birthday, my uncle lived with it for over three decades, and one of my closest friends has been living with it for a number of years now too. It’s such a random affliction, and seems to affect everybody differently.
I had to care for my mum for a number of years after we lost my dad, and I’ve seen first hand how it can rob any part of your being: sight, memory, touch, movement. It can change your personality, your mood… and it’s exhausting. Much like riding a bike from London to Brighton.
It’s not a huge distance, but that’s not the point. We ‘re just trying to do something to raise a little bit of money for a cause that is very close to both our hearts. So please help us hit our target. Feel free to donate any amount. We’d be very grateful.
If we reach a grand we’ll turn around at the end and ride straight back.
