CancerCare is a local, independent charity dedicated to helping adults and children affected by cancer or bereavement in North Lancashire and South Cumbria. Over 90% of our income comes from donations, fundraising and gifts in Wills.

Story

Dear All,

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. As you may or may not know, I have been diagnosed with cancer for the second time in my life. It is very rare and incurable, the future of it unknown. I thought my world had been blown apart, until I found the courage to contact CancerCare. With the kindness and support of everyone there, I now feel back in control and I can live with this cancer, infact with the strength I have found I have decided to tackle the Inca Trail in Peru and Trek those Mountains (and for those of you who know me, you know this will be no easy task!!). I had to find a way to say Thank you for helping me get my life back, and when I stand at the top of those mountains, I know I will have beaten my cancer and, with your kind support, raised mountains of cash for CancerCare too!!

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: CancerCare will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now, Dig deep folks, lets help others find their mountain tops too!
Many thanks for your support, and may you or your loved ones never need the help of CancerCare.   LOVE, JOOLZ   XXxx

Hiya!

Just wanted to give you a quick update of progress! Everyone is being so generous, thank you, I'm getting the most wonderful donations from the most unexpected people!! Thank you EVERYONE for your generosity!! My original target was going to be £10,000 but then I thought I may be aiming too high, now I'm thinking what the hell, you don't know if you don't try!!

A big THANK you goes to my big sister Katie who has been holding (and is still organising)  fundraisers at her pub, The Golden Lion, Chorley, come along and join the fun! She raised £2000 on New Years Eve.

Still organising events and trailing round the countryside getting ready for the big day! Will keep you informed of my progress.

Big Love,

Joolz xxx

Quick note to up date you!

had some fantastic &very generous donations, I won't name names as each donation is as important as the other, but all of them are recieved with huge thanks.

More big thanks goes to my big sis Katie, she is still working all out to raise money, and held a fantastic evening last week with entertainment from the fabulous Vic Silver, plus her local studs held a charity rugby match and raised money too, so thanks fellas!! I'm just sorry my charity do clashes with Katies commitments as I really wanted her to come and have some fun for a change, rather than having to do all the work

We are holding a charity do at Kirkby Lonsdale Rugby Club on 29th of June. There will be music, hotpot supper, beer, a charity auction and entertainment provided by the one....the only....Viccccc Silverrrrrr !!! If you are interested in coming then leave me a message with your donation (not cheeky me!!!) and I will contact you! If anyone has anything to donate that can be auctioned that would be greatly appreciated too.

I've finished my hospital treatment and hope to be back in fine fettle as they say here oop north very soon. Keep the money rolling in guys, everyones doing a top job!!

Hi again!

things moving well here. Two weeks till my big do, I tell ya, after the stress of this the walk should be a doddle!!

People are still being very generous, we went to Chris & Helen Halliwell's wedding this weekend which was a great night. They were ever so kind and had a collection which was split between the Hospice who cared for Chris's dad John, & Cancer care- thanks guys, I just added £145 to my total!!

I shall keep you posted on how much we raise on the big night. I just want to say thanks for all the continued support and for the donations of money, raffle prizes and auction prizes that keep coming in. The support is much appreciated.Anyway, no time to sit and chat, I've got hills to trundle!!

Big loves to all xxx

Hello!!

Not long to go now GULP!!

Had a fantastic night which raised £2,400 plus a kind donation from my boy Keiren, who raised lots by raffling off his gloves  at Carlisle, and made over £600, this means that the £9000 mark has been smashed! I'm sooo excited and grateful to everyone who has helped in what ever way they can, anyway, can't stop, ridiculous amount of rain to trudge through in my effort to train!! (Will it EVER be nice out there?!!)

Loves as ever,

JOOLZ XXXXXXXXXXXXXx
