YDA encourages children and young people with any level of hearing impairment or dual sensory loss to become confident and independent in any environment. YDA provides activities in which they can meet and communicate and we help hearing parents and siblings to join in this communication process.

Story

As most of you will know physical activity isn't my strong point, so taking on 26.2 miles is going to be quite a challenge and not something I ever thought I would do until the letter arrived in October!

My cousin Sam has being going to YDA groups and on trips for many years. He has had the opportunity to visit lots of places and socialise with other children and young adults who are hard of hearing too.

Young Deaf Activities receives no Central Goverment funding so relies heavily upon donations, so anything you can spare is really appreciated and will push me to the finish line!
