The Lakeland 3000 challenge in 24hrs · 15 July 2022

A National Award Winning Charity that offers safe, confidential, dedicated and specialist advice, information, support and emotional wellbeing services for young people aged 11-25 years. We make a positive difference in the lives of children and young people.

Story

The challenge will see us summit the 4 highest mountains in the Lake District National Park: Scafell; Scafell Pike; Helvelyn and Skiddaw. All of these mountains are over 3000ft, giving the challenge it's name. The total walking distance is 82.2km (just over 51 miles) and the total elevation gain is over 5,200 metres (over 17k feet).

We have chosen to support Streetwise, when undertaking this challenge. This is because Streetwise has been supporting children and young people for over a quarter of a century. The charity has a strong track record of delivering high quality support services in challenging circumstances, meeting the emotional wellbeing and mental health needs of young people whilst helping to develop and influence local and national policy and service development. Streetwise is passionate and deeply committed to improving the lives of children and young people and we are very inspired by their work and the difference they make.
