Bliss is the leading UK charity for babies born premature or sick. We rely on donations to fund our work but with one baby admitted to neonatal care every five minutes we don’t have the resources to reach every baby who needs us. Your donation can help Bliss ensure every baby gets the best care.

Story

This year I will be taking part in the Prudential RideLondon 100 for the charity Bliss. Taking into account two of my passions, biking and my family.

As some of you may know, my son Elliot was born 8 weeks earlier than expected and spent 4 weeks in York Special Care Baby Unit, what people don’t know is that because of this I nearly lost both Elliot and Kass, this was down to a severe case of Eclampsia and HELLP Syndrome.

Bliss provide the support and research we need to bring our babies home. They not only perform little miracles every day for people like Kass, Elliot and I but they offer around the clock support for anyone with children born early or sick.

I’ve chosen to fundraise for Bliss because I want to make a real difference to the 95,000 babies born premature or sick every year. Every donation that’s made to this page brings Bliss closer to ensuring that every baby born premature or sick in the UK has the best chance of survival and quality of life. Bliss does that by supporting parents to care for their babies, campaigning for better neonatal care and enabling life-changing research.

£25 Could provide emotional support to parents through a family group meeting

£65 Could support neonatal research, which can be life-changing for babies

£150 Helps to keep the Bliss helpline running for one week, providing a lifeline for parents

£500 Could provide 250 families with essential information to understand how best to care for their baby in hospital
