Story
Hello! In October 2023 I will be running the Amsterdam marathon for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY). I will be running in memory of our much loved Toby, who died earlier this year of a cardiac arrest. Amongst many other things, Toby was a bright, interesting, funny guy and a great friend. He is hugely missed by all those who knew him.
Running was one of Toby's many passions; he ran in many races, including the London marathon in 2021 raising money for CALM. He also completed the Border to Hel challenge, a crazy non-stop 400km run/cycle/drive. I am really pleased to be running this marathon in his memory on what I'm sure will be a great day.
It would be amazing to raise as much money as possible for CRY and I am so grateful for any support. CRY do really important work in screening young people for cardiac conditions - any contributions big or small would be hugely appreciated.
Thank you!
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
