Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
When lock down started I decided to do couch to 5k with Mum to keep fit. I can now do 5k running without stopping!!!! My end target was that I wanted to run in a 5k event and raise money for charity. As the lock down keeps going on and on and on I don't think I will be able to do a race soon enough. That's why I have decided that I want to do my own challenge. I am going to try and run 5k everyday for 7 days in a row starting on May 4th 2020 (May the 4th be with you). This will be 35 km or 21.7 miles in total - I can do this!!!!!! I am doing this challenge for Meningitis Awareness.
Whilst COVID-19 has been going on my Mum told me about her cousin's 1 year old son Sonny who was taken extremely poorly with sepsis and meningitis. He was in a hospital for a long time but now thank goodness he is getting better on his road to recovery.
I decided I wanted to help Sonny and other people that get meningitis by raising money to help the charity. I also want to help stop other people from getting this - together I hope that we can beat meningitis as I don't want any one else to be ill from it.
I heard on a CBBC programme (I think it was Newsround) that it is also important to remember that even during COVID-19 other children and adults will have different illnesses and need to go to hospital. The doctors and nurses across the country are not only helping COVID-19 people but also other ill people and they are amazing. My aunty Jenna is a nurse and her and her crew are working really hard with all the other doctors and nurses in the UK.
If you are able to donate anything towards my challenge to reach my target I would be really pleased. Just 50p will help.
Thank you very much.
