Baxters Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of Running 2018 · 23 September 2018 ·

We support the growing number of people in and around Milton Keynes affected by a life-limiting illness. We give our patients and their loved ones specialist, personalised care - free of charge. Only 13.8% of our costs are met by ongoing NHS funding, so we’re dependent on your support. Thank you.

Story

Nick and I have both entered The Loch Ness Marathon !! We have done this in memory of my dad (Gus) and Nicks mum (Beryl). Beryl also died in Willen Hospice 30 years ago this November, What better way to keep both memories alive by doing something neither of us ever dreamt was possibly. Willen Hospice is very close to our hearts and we hope through our blood, sweat and tears we can raise money for this amazing team.  Losing a loved one is never easy but having the support and kindness from people who put themselves into a job caring for others is no mean feat. Please help us make our goal and help people die with the dignity they deserve.

Willen Hospice provides specialist end-of-life care for adults, focusing on four key areas: specialist symptom control, emotional support, spiritual support and care for carers.Often the most distressing aspect of living with life-limiting illnesses is the types of pain and symptoms which can arise. Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers can give compassionate, specialist support to patients, and their family members, to help deal with, as they wish to, the physical and emotional effects of both their illness and treatments.
