In memory of Joseph Marshall

The Diocese of Liverpool is an exciting, challenging and stimulating place to be. We serve a wide mix of communities in urban, rural and town parishes. We are innovative, seeking new ways to further God’s mission while respecting cherished traditions.

Story

In Joseph’s memory, we would like to support two charities that represent his desire to help others and our desire to support other young people like him:

1.) Joseph loved his time in Uganda and was always keen to make a difference in the lives of others. It seems right therefore to support a project with International Needs in Uganda, where Joseph visited in 2016. (https://ineeds.org.uk/). We have been in contact with International Needs and we are hoping to contribute towards the cost of constructing a new well in Joseph's memory.

2.) Joseph was always a listening ear for his friend’s problems and many have described him as a rock, even though for many years Joseph struggled with acute anxiety. To help others we will also be making a donation to the work of Young Minds (https://youngminds.org.uk)

UPDATE 29 DECEMBER 2020

Losing Joseph has been the hardest thing ever but the love and positivity shared by you all has been a real comfort. In life Joseph gave out a great deal of love and his compassion for all shone through.
We are so grateful to everyone who has given so generously to support Joseph's well, which will provide life giving water in Kiyindi, Uganda AND to support the amazing work of young minds, providing support for young people struggling with their mental health.
We are so grateful that in death just as in life, Joseph will continue to support many in need. Thank you so much for your support.
