Story
My name is Joseph Stuart, I am 17, and I am a student who was born and raised in Hong Kong. This summer I will be part of the Ladakh 2014 Expedition to the ‘Land of High Passes’.
I set off along with my expedition team on the 7th of July 2014 to conquer different areas of the Himalayas including the Parangla pass and Parang peak. We are attempting to set a world record as the youngest expedition to summit the Parang Peak at 19,100ft in July. I am currently the School Sports Captain at Island School (Hong Kong), and I am a keen sportsman with a passion for adventure and endurance. As part of the expedition, I have decided I would like to take this fantastic opportunity to help fundraise and raise awareness for two very deserving charities. I want to do something active about a problem that I find quite personal as many of the people around me have experienced bullying, so I decided that the first charity I would like to support and raise awareness of is Ditch the Label. To support this charity on my behalf it can be done through this Just Giving webpage. The other charity I am supporting is the KELY support group in Hong Kong. I have known about the organisation for almost 5 years now, and know that their efforts have helped many youths with things such as alcohol and drug abuse. They offer support to these young people and I myself understand how important that can be.
