The Wales Air Ambulance Charity provides advanced life-saving emergency care for everyone in Wales, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are a ‘mobile emergency department’ that relies entirely on donations to keep our helicopters in the air and rapid response vehicles on the road.

Story

Starting on Sunday 9th August 2020, three intrepid elder statesmen with over 177 years of wisdom between them, will be (as a team) completing the Ironman distances each week for four weeks. They will be finishing on Sunday 6th September 2020.

Francis Bunker from ‘Marine Seen’ will be swimming 2.4 miles per week - total 9.6 miles. Phil Smith from ‘Pembrokeshire Coffee’ will be running 26.2 miles per week - total 104.8 miles. Jeff Davies (we haven’t worked out where he came from yet) will be cycling 112 miles per week - total 448 miles (we definitely think he has the short straw but it was his idea in the first place).

They have decided to do this event to raise money for 'The Wales Air Ambulance Service', an essential part of the rescue services - especially at this time of year.

They are aware that there are lots of events taking place to raise money for many worthwhile charities but would greatly appreciate any donation, small or large.
