7 months ago I started working for YMCA as a Marketing & PR Assistant, during that time I saw with my own eyes the kind of great work the local YMCAs do to help young people in their communities.

I now have an amazing opportunity to go to Senegal in West Africa to help young and vulnerable people out there for around 3 months!  :)

Volunteering overseas is something I've wanted to do for many years but I never thought I would have the opportunity. I'm now getting very excited at the prospect of going to Senegal and helping people less fortunate than myself.

The only catch is... I need your help in order for me to get there. I have to raise some funds!

I will be doing a 5k run in Mumbles on the 2nd of September to raise money and anybody that knew me as a teenager will tell you, for me, that would be some achievement!  (To say I was a little bit chubby and lazy would be putting it lightly!)

I really would appreciate any donation, big or small, that you're willing to give. Every penny helps and I really don't want to waste this great opportunity!
