London Marathon 2024 - Fundraising for GOSH

London Marathon 2024 · 21 April 2024 ·
I am running the London Marathon on the 21st April 2024 in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) Charity.
When I was born I had two life-changing issues. The first was that one of my nasal passages did not form and was blocked by bone. The other being my lungs had a limited flow of blood to them.
After spending the first few weeks of my life in the Special Care Baby Unit, neither of these issues had been identified. It wasn't until a year later and several trips to the hospital that the issues were finally diagnosed.
At three years old I was old enough to be operated on and my parents were able to get me referred to GOSH. I underwent several operations to clear my nasal passage and a complex operation that fed a tiny coil from my thigh, through my heart and dropped at a point that forced the blood flow through my lungs.
Compared to the other incredible operations and work that everyone at GOSH does, these can seem like minor pieces of work. However, these operations changed my life and I will always be grateful. My family and I support them each year, so any contributions to the amazing work they do would be amazing!
