Story

December 2020 - Jake decides ‘Fatty and Fitty’ should run a Marathon.

March 2021 - I (Josh/Basil) am running a marathon in less than a month, s**t.

I’m not a runner, never been a runner, never had any interest in running.

April 2020 I ran my first ever 5km courtesy of Tom nominating me, now I’m running about 160km a month training thanks to a plan Fin has written me, why am I doing this?!

If you’re going to run a marathon, why not try and raise a bit of money for a good cause I guess!

Why ‘Mind’? Firstly, ‘Mind’ was the big winner amongst my instagram following, it was one amongst many fantastic charities and organisations people replied with. Mental Health awareness is a sweeping across the planet thanks to accurate diagnosis and support being available, COVID and lockdown has only exacerbated a pre-existing health issue, so why not support the people who support us! I’ve clearly got some mental health issues trying this right?!

I’m an individual who’s been on a small fitness journey for the last 4 years or so, I need goals and measurables to keep me on track and feeling sane. Without rugby or the gym running has become my vice! I’m stubborn and get fixated to the point of obsession with reaching a goal if one is set for me, unfortunately 26 miles/42 kilometres on Saturday 27th March is that goal!

If you’re able to donate please do, if not then a message, share or like would be hugely appreciated!
