Story
Living with any form of mental illness can leave you feeling isolated and restricted mentally in life. I was messaged a few weeks ago by a woman, who told me her close friend Ben brown had sadly taken his life. This really struck a cord with me knowing how much awareness and Monet had been raised after the last challenge, and yet this message did not reach ben. 18 people take their life a day, that's 18 to many. This challenge will honour ben, and all those that have sadly passed. This challenge can continue to raise awareness, and much needed funds to CALM, to support all those feeling vulnerable, any time or day of the year!
As someone who has had depression, and lives with anxiety, I want to showcase what is possible. To redefine how we perceive someone living with mental illness, and what can be achieved when living with it. I no longer see a limitation in my mind, but a motivation to achieve. Mental illness is not something you would wish to have, but it certainly can become a gift if you wish it to be.
Every life lost to suicide, is a life I feel I could have saved. Everyone in this world deserves to feel wanted, to be happy, loved and supported. I hope with each challenge i achieve, they will see and feel this Cleary. There are people all over the uk from different walks of life that need our help, a simple phone call to CALM, could be the difference. Together we can give hope!
