Story
In September 2024, my Nan was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and dementia. She is the only grandparent me and my brother have ever had, and watching her decline has been one of the hardest things our family has been through.
Her only support throughout has been myself, my mum, dad and brother, alongside the incredible team at Elsie’s Help at Home in Chelmsford, who have been absolutely amazing. Managing this alongside our jobs and daily lives has been a real strain, but it has also made me want to do something that actually matters.
Alzheimer’s affects 1 in 2 families in the UK. It is not a rare or distant thing. It is something so many people are quietly going through, often without much support.
I am running the London Marathon 2027 for Alzheimer’s Research UK because I want to help change that. Any donation, no matter how small, is genuinely appreciated. Thank you.
