Samaritans is an amazing charity providing support 24 hours a day 7 days week to those in distress including being at risk of suicide.

The pandemic has reminded us all that there are so many people struggling with all sorts of issues and the need for emotional support and someone to listen confidentially without judgement is greater than ever.

I have been a volunteer at Harrow for over 20 years and it has been an absolute privilege to support our callers.   It has been a pleasure also to be a member of the branch with its fantastic volunteers.

I have always been a keen cyclist and I need to set myself a challenge. In May I am joining a band of volunteers from several branches to ride from London to York to raise funds. You can find the details of the ride, our route and our merry band at https://samsheritage.bike/ .
