Story

Edit

Due to bad weather or Covid19 all the below events were cancelled and i will applying for these again next year. The London Marathon was set to be completed in October 2020 but i have since heard this may only be for Elite running, As i am far from elite i have since defered my place until april 2021. But my training did not go to waste and i completed a 26.2 mile circuit around Houghton Conquest.

More updates to follow

Hello everyone

I would love to announce that i am running the Virgin London Marathon on April 26th 2020 for Great Ormond Street Hospital in memory of my daughter Hallie Louise Usher who passed away in the care of Gosh on April 4th 2019. Hallie was only 8 weeks old when she gained her angel wings.

Hallie's complications started at birth, when she was born she required around 25 minutes of resuscitation before she took and held her first breath, after 2 days of life Hallie has to be intubated as when she was asleep her brain did not function correctly, this meant she would stop breathing. As the days turned into weeks the doctors or nurses had no answers to what the was wrong with Hallie. We was transferred to Great Ormond Street Hospital to try and find a cure for Hallie. We was given a nearby accommodation so we did not have to travel to london everyday to spend time with our Warrior Daughter. As the weeks went by all the tests kept coming back negative our Hallie's change of survival dwindled. We had to make the hardest and worst decision of our lives. Hallie's life support machine was turned off and she passed away in our arms peacefully.

Hallie's condition was so rare it has never been seen before at GOSH, We never really got a real answer as to what was wrong with Hallie. But without the care we received from GOSH we would not have got the 8 short but magical weeks with Hallie that we did. They tried everything in their power to diagnose Hallie's condition, even doing tests 6 months after she passed away. I'm afraid there was no magical cure for our Daughter and our story did not have a happy ending, but we know without the work from everyone at Great Ormond street Hospital we would not have had the 8 weeks we did with our precious little girl.

I will be running the 26.2 miles to raise as much money as possible for this amazing hospital, The Fantastic nurses, amazin doctors and everyone else who works for this magical place.

Everyday 618 children and young people from across the UK arrive at GOSH. Everyday doctors and nurses battle the most complex illnesses and the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs. This extraordinary hospital has always depends on charitable support and by donation to my 2020 Marathon page you can help make a difference to the lives of seriously ill children.

Please donate what you can afford and help me read my target so hopefully another family does not need to go through the same heartache we did and still do.

Hopefully they get to take their child home.

EDIT - Morning all, I just wanted to update everyone who may not have heard, But as the London Marathon was postponed until October 2020 due to Covid19 - And now rumors are going around saying that only the Elite Runners are going to be taking part in October, I have decided to postpone my London Marathon place until April 2021.

As few of you know my training did not go to waste as i completed 26.2 miles on Sunday 26th April 2020 and ran my very own Marathon for this great cause.

I will resume training again shortly for London Next year and hopefully be in much better shape and smash this out the park -

Thank you for reading my story and reason why i want to raise as much money as i can.
