The Heaton Ellis Trust aims to find a cure for Motor Neurone Disease. The Trust is committed to raising over £1million to fund the research programme headed by Professor Chris Shaw at the department of Clinical Neuroscience at King’s College Hospital in London.

Story

I have been fortunate to witness the Matterhorn for much of my life.

Every year, I come away from Zermatt with a huge urge to climb this amazingly beautiful mountain.

Late last year, having contracted Motor Neurone Disease, my grandmother passed away.

In honour of her, and to help overcome this horrible disease, at the end of August I am going to try to climb the Matterhorn and raise money for The Heaton-Ellis Trust, (http://www.heatonellistrust.com), a charity dedicated to Motor Neurone Disease research. The disease is still relatively misunderstood and research into it underfunded. The charity has been successful at raising funds to support Professor Chris Shaw and his team at King's College, London. Your support is much appreciated.
