Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our funding page. We are Jimmy, Joe, Tom and Billy and we are riding the LONDON -SURREY 100 mile in honour of Josh Edmonds who died in a road accident in Vietnam aged 22. Josh is Jimmy's son and Joe's brother and will never be forgotten.
Since his death Josh's family have found much support from The Compassionate Friends, a peer to peer charity for bereaved parents and siblings. The grief for a child of any age is a very confusing, very painful and very lonely time, especially when those around you don't know how to help or how to be comfortable in your presence. In many ways we represent very parents worst nightmare and many friends and family will shy away, either in the mistaken belief that to talk about Josh would upset us more or because of their own fears. This is where TCF can help. As a support network for families like ours it is also committed to raising awareness about the needs of the bereaved. Approximately 6000 young people (under 23) die every year in the UK leaving many many more whose lives have been shattered by the trauma of what is always an unnatural death. The Compassionate Friends is here to help families try and put their lives back together, as it has us, and we'd be super grateful if you could help us to help them continue this important work. Big Thanks from Team Josh!
