Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This page has been created in memory of my Son, Josh Oliver, who sadly left us on 29th December 2014 - he was just 15 years old!

The purpose of the Josh Oliver Charity Foundation is to raise funds and to give something back to the Organisations that have supported and helped me through this very tough time. The founder of the Charity 'Opening Your Heart To Bhutan', Pema Deki (Emma Slade), a Bhuddist Nun, has been helping me to cope with the loss of Josh.

The helplessness I felt after Josh's death saw me launch this foundation in his memory. The Josh Oliver Foundation is now raising money for severely disabled children in Bhutan, many of who are the same age as Josh when he left us.

These children live in the rural isolated east of the country and lack basic needs, and with a little help we could transform their lives.

At the moment there are only three people who make prosthetics in a country where one in five children is disabled. These rudimentary peg legs lack the flexible joints which allow a child to walk, run and play with their friends.  This campaign will help to purchase more advanced prosthetics for these children, making life for them a little more comfortable.

Please help us to make a difference - all donations gratefully received. Thank you.
