Paris Marathon 2011 · 10 April 2011 ·

Every day in the UK, another 240 people wake up to the catastrophic impact of a stroke. The Stroke Association is the only charity in the UK providing lifelong support for all stroke survivors and their families.

Story

One down one to go in my dual marathon challenge having managed to complete Paris in 3 hours 58 mins and 17 seconds. Just the 26 miles 385 yards to go at Edinburgh.

In the process of running these 2 marathons in 6 weeks I am trying to raise some money for the Stroke Association.

The charity is close to my heart as both my maternal grand -parents suffered with strokes and I saw how it affected them in their latter years.

The Stroke Association funds research into prevention, treatment and better methods of rehabilitation, and helps stroke patients and their families directly through its Life After Stroke Services.

150,000 people suffer with strokes each year so by donating you would be helping people suffering with the illness and making their lives a little more comforting

I appreciate times are tough but any donations will be much appreciated and will inspire me during my 2 marathons.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
