NICE is a leading UK charity transforming the lives of disabled children and adults who have movement disorders such as cerebral palsy and Parkinson’s. We push the boundaries of their potential by teaching them through conductive education, new ways of controlling the effect of their condition.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page, in memory of our wonderful Mum. She was loved by so many people all over the world and will never be forgotten. The National Institute of Conductive Education helped Mum after her first stroke in 1996.

Conductive Education is an educational approach to disability, in which people affected by neurological conditions take part in structured movement programmes, designed and led by professionals, in order to develop their movement. The services for stroke survivors at NICE are led by the thinking that stroke recovery is an on-going learning process; not defined and time-limited.

While Mum was not able to return to the vocation she loved so much, as a midwife, NICE helped our Mum to achieve the best possible recovery, driving again and living an independent life full of joy and laughter.
