London Marathon 2021 · 3 October 2021 ·

Lewy body dementia is the second most common cause of age-related dementia, affecting around 130,000 people in the UK. We raise awareness of the disease, provide information to patients and carers, and fund research so that in future it can be more easily diagnosed and treated.

Story

I've been lucky (!?!) to get a last minute place at the London Marathon. With 7 weeks to train, I won't be breaking any records but as its my first, and probably last, full marathon, I thought it was a good opportunity to raise money and awareness for The Lewy Body Society, who aim to educate the public, the medical professions and those in decision-making positions about the disease, which unfortunately is still not well known.
