Hello everyone!
Thanks for visiting our charity donation page. Many thanks for joining with us to celebrate our big day. And also, thanks very much for helping us to support two charities that have great personal meaning for us - Cancer Research UK and the Karen Leung Memorial Foundation.
Recently, several of our closest friends and family have been battling different forms of cancer. We wanted to use our wedding celebration as an opportunity to donate some cash to help win the war against the disease.
Cancer Research UK is the UK's largest cancer charity, and funds over half of the UK's research into the disease. Their funding provides for 4000 scientists, doctors and nurses, and has helped to develop some of the "famous" cancer drugs and pioneered treatments such as radiotherapy. Cancer Research UK also raises awareness and provides information on the disease. They campaign on issues such as screening programmes and access to anti-cancer drugs. Of particular relevance to us, they helped to develop the UK's national screening programmes for breast, bowel and cervical cancer.
We are very pleased to help support this world-changing charity and we'd be very happy if you'd make a donation through this JustGiving webpage (remembering to tick the tax-free box if you're a UK tax payer!)
And in addition to Cancer Research UK, we very much wanted to support a new charity which was set up in the name of Josje's dear friend Karen. Karen who put up an incredible fight against cervical cancer but sadly passed away last year, in October 2012. Her wish was to leave a legacy, to help educate and spread awareness of gynaecological cancers in Hong Kong, where there are limited public healthcare programmes. Its other key aim is to provide information to Hong Kong women to help them get access to cutting-edge treatments that are not readily available in Hong Kong. Karen's husband, Waqas (who, like his wife is an really inspiring person), has set up a charity in her name and, although it's newly formed, is already quickly building momentum. You can read more about Karen's charity by following this link:

Unfortunately, the charity hasn't yet got an easy method of making donations if you live outside of Hong Kong or USA. Therefore, if you'd like to make a donation to Karen's charity, please email us at josjerichard@gmail.com. We'll collect all such donations through Richard's UK bank account - Richard has promised to not spend it all on dance lessons!
Thank you all, once again. With love and best wishes,
Mr & Mrs Payne xx
