Story
UPDATE: the hair is off and I’ve blown past my target! Thanks so much to everyone who’s donated so far, I’m going to keep the fundraiser open a bit longer to see if I can scrounge up any more money for this great cause. The final length was 16 inches!
It’s been a long time coming… I first decided to donate my hair in March 2020, planning to grow it out during lockdown and donate when we were out. Fast forward to that summer, we’re (sort of) out in the world again, but I get the feeling that it’s not going to last—and the longer the hair donated the better, so I stuck it out! Now it’s 2022 and honestly it’s way past overdue, I don’t know what to do with all this hair, so let’s send it away to a good cause.
£550 is the cost of producing a real hair wig for a single child, so if we could fully cover these costs that would be ideal. I also want to call attention to Anthony Nolan, who operate a stem cell register to match people suffering from blood cancers to donors, a cause that’s close to my heart for a number of reasons. So please please also go and register there as well, it’s super easy to join the register (just a swab they send in the post).
