A joke with some friends (that one of us has worms) got me thinking about a not-very-funny matter: the parasite burdens that affect people, especially children, in the developing world.

Treatment for these is not expensive, and Evidence Action's Deworm the World's initiative has a very good rating for the impact it makes per unit spend. Even a small donation can make a big difference in freeing children from the negative impacts of parasite infestation. It might not be pleasant to think about, or headline grabbing, but it is important.

I decided to do something about it, hence "Press-ups for Parasite Control". I am to do 1000 press ups between now and the end of the month.
