Round the Island Event · 1 June 2013

The Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust inspires young people aged 8-24 to believe in a brighter future living through and beyond cancer. For many young people simply picking up where they left off before their diagnosis just isn’t possible. So, when treatment ends the Trust’s work begins.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit the J.P. Morgan employee JustGiving site for Round the Island 2013.

Employees from Bournemouth, London and Swindon will be taking part in this year's Round the Island Race and Round the Island Cycle Challenge on Saturday, 1 June 2013.

The J.P. Morgan Asset Management Round the Island Race is one of the world's largest yacht races and attracts approx 1,700 yachts.  The race is a 50 mile circuit around the Isle of Wight.  This year there will be 111 J.P. Morgan sailors involved, racing on 8 Clipper 68s and 2 Sunsail F40s.

The Round the Island Cycle Challenge is a 62 mile on-road cycle which takes place at the same time as the yacht race.  There will be approx 100 cyclists from Bournemouth, London and Swindon taking part.  The fastest cyclists aim to beat the time of the fastest yacht around the island!

This is the seventh year we have taken part in the Round the Island.  It is not only a great day both on and off the water, it is also a great opportunity to help raise money and make a difference to the lives of young people recovering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses.  To date, with your help, we have raised over £100,000 for the Ellen MacArthur Cancer Trust, a fantastic total.  This year we'd like to make this the year when we raise more money than any other year with our target of £20,000!

Please sponsor us to help this extremely worthy cause.  Thank you.
