I was diagnosed with Myeloma in 2012. I’d been training for the Edinburgh 10km run and just couldn’t seem to improve my performance, following the run my legs were really swollen and after lots of tests I was diagnosed with AL Amyloidosis and Myeloma. 9 months of chemotherapy and a stem cell transplant followed and I was one of the lucky ones who went into remission. 5 years down the line I’m still in remission and have got fitter and healthier with each passing year.
I’m delighted to be running the London Marathon for Myeloma UK. I’ve been building up my running on the trails over the past year and feel in a good place to train for and complete the marathon. I’m really excited about the opportunity and I'm hoping to raise a much money as I can for Myeloma UK. They have been a great source of information and support to me and my family over the past 6 years.
