Swimming was a big part of my Mams childhood and 50 years on she is back in the water to undertake what I and people who know her think is something amazing.

Judith has never done anything like this so when she said she was going to swim a mile or 2 in Windermere we didn’t know what to say but months later and she has been donning her wetsuit and training in freezing lakes around the North East.

I did not want to let this achievement go unmarked so she is going to do the swim and hopefully raise some money for Age UK County Durham as she knows first hand the importance of supporting vulnerable older people.
