For our little hero Ferris and the Archie Foundation!

On June 7th, 2026, I will walk the 18 miles of the Aberdeen Kiltwalk. I am not doing this just for fun. I am walking for a very special cause: the Archie Foundation. Why? Because every child deserves the very best care and support, especially when things are very difficult. For some, a sporting challenge; for me, a path of gratitude.

When our Ferris was born much too early, our world stood still. From his birth in June through December 2025, he had to stay in the hospital in Aberdeen and fought one complication after another. During that incredibly difficult period, with many medical problems and the months-long stay in the hospital, the Archie Foundation was there for us, alongside the support of the nurses.

They not only provided us with facilities but also ensured extra care and support that made a world of difference for us in giving Ferris the best possible start under incredibly difficult circumstances.

Now that Ferris is finally home, we can look ahead a little, and I want to give something back to the foundation that has meant so much to us. I am walking to raise money so that other parents and their brave little ones in Aberdeen receive the same support when their world is turned upside down. Will you help me raise a nice amount?

Every donation, no matter how small, helps a family get through their toughest time. Every pound goes directly to the care of families of these brave little ones like our sweet Ferris! Thank you so much for your support! And for sharing my campaign!

Voor onze kleine held Ferris en de Archie Foundation!

Op 7 juni 2026 loop ik de 18 mile van de Aberdeen Kiltwalk.

Dit doe ik niet zomaar. Ik loop voor een heel bijzonder doel; de Archie Foundation. Waarom? Omdat elk kind de allerbeste zorg en ondersteuning verdient, zeker als het erg moeilijk gaat. Voor sommigen een sportieve uitdaging, voor mij een weg van dankbaarheid.

Toen onze Ferris veel te vroeg werd geboren stond onze wereld stil. Vanaf zijn geboorte in juni t/m december 2025 moest hij in het ziekenhuis in Aberdeen blijven en vocht tegen de ene complicatie na de andere. In die ontzettend zware periode, met veel medische problemen en het maandenlange verblijf in het ziekenhuis , was de Archie Foundation er voor ons, naast de steun van de verpleegkundigen. Ze boden ons niet alleen faciliteiten maar zorgden ook voor die extra zorg en steun die een wereld van verschil maakte voor ons om Ferris de best mogelijke start te geven onder moeilijke omstandigheden.

Nu Ferris eindelijk thuis is kunnen we een beetje vooruit kijken en wil ik iets terug doen voor de stichting die zoveel voor ons heeft betekend. Ik loop om geld in te zamelen zodat andere ouders en hun dappere kleintjes in Aberdeen dezelfde steun krijgen wanneer hun wereld op de kop staat.

Help je mee om een mooi bedrag te halen? Iedere donatie, hoe klein ook, helpt een gezin door hun moeilijkste tijd heen. Elke euro of pond gaat direct naar de zorg voor de familie leden van deze dappere kleintjes zoals onze lieve Ferris!
