On the 23rd April 2023, I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for UK charity Orchard Vale Trust. Having completed NYC marathon (thank you for your support), I’m ready to tackle my next bit of fundraising and have chosen to run for a community based charity. Orchard Vale Trust support adults with learning disabilities to live life to the full. Providing person-centred care that helps individuals to develop and achieve their own goals.The trust began after identifying a lack of opportunities available for learning disabled adults after leaving secondary school. OVT can bridge this gap by providing lifelong homes to these people, homes where they are assisted in pursuing hobbies, developing skills and integrating with their communities.They have evolved to offer a range of community and day services, including employability schemes. Their work helps to demonstrate the incredible things learning disabled adults can achieve when given equal opportunities.
