We work in disadvantaged communities to improve literacy skills and life chances

Story

On Sunday 15 March 2020, we are dressing up like the wallys we are and running in the name of literacy at the Where's Wally? fun run!

Rosie is running her first 5k after popping out her lovely mini wally and this is Julia's first 10k! Jack is aiming to beat his 9th place position from Wally 2019 in the 10k. Meanwhile Sam will be trying to keep up with his his four-legged wally (aka Leo the Cocker Spaniel) and picking up his poop in the 10k!

Did you know that in the UK, one in eight disadvantaged children don't own a single book, and that in the UK's poorest communities one person in three has literacy problems?

The National Literacy Trust is an independent charity that empowers children and adults in the UK by giving them the literacy skills they need to do well in life. This can be as simple as providing disadvantaged children with their very first book to choose and keep, to running education based holiday programmes and skills workshops for adults and children in some of the most deprived areas of the UK.

Every penny that you donate will make a real difference and will help to us get to the finish line, so please dig deep and sponsor us!

Don't forget to sponsor Dan (Wally on the right), Ed and Chris on their page too: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/running-joke-2020
