Douglas Macmillan Hospice - Dougie Mac 5k Run/Walk · 1 April 2012 ·

Douglas Macmillan Hospice (Dougie Mac) is the only hospice in Staffordshire supporting Children, Young Adults & Adults. Care is given to patients who are living with a life-limiting illness at our two sites and in the community. We also provide support for patients families and their carers.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Wendy was diagnosed with cancer in February 2011 aged 50.  By this time it was too advanced.  Wendy was admitted to the Douglas MacMillan Hospice in March where she spent her last few days.  The care Wendy received there was amazing as were the staff.

Rich and I are both doing this 5K Walk/Run to help support the Hospice in Wendy's memory and to help continue to provide support to others suffering with cancer, as well as their family and friends.  It will be exactly a year to the date of Wendy's funeral that day.  Any amount anyone can offer for either of us, however small will be really appreciated and we will be using a paper sponsor form too for anyone who would prefer not to donate electronically.

For Wendy, who we think about and miss every day xxxxx
