We are dedicated to improving the quality of life and chances of survival for young cancer patients aged 13-24. We fund and build specialist units in NHS hospitals and provide dedicated staff, bringing young people together so they can be treated by teenage cancer experts in the best place for them.

Story

I am going to walk the great north run to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT).

  • Why TCT? - The charity support a cause close to my heart because a friend of mine was diagnosed with terminal cancer but lived to tell the tale. They don't just help young people live with cancer and accept what may happen to them they work hard with those who get the all clear to learn to live again and enjoy their future.
  • Why walk not run? - I suffer from chronic pain and i'm not even sure if I can run any more its been so long since I tried. But for such a good cause I want to try and even on the worst of days I can manage a slow shuffle so with some training and hard work a fast walk is guaranteed.
  • So why the great north run? - Why not ...
