On the 17th of December 2017, Julian's life was tragically cut short. He became suddenly very unwell and was rushed to hospital. CT scans revealed that Julian had an aneurysm in an artery in his brain; this ruptured causing a massive bleed from which he could not recover.
Julian died just 6 months after retiring. He relished the opportunity to pursue more rounds of golf and walking with the ramblers. He also re-discovered some old talents and started playing the violin again. Julian had so many plans for the future and although his time was cut short, he made the most of every moment.
Julian was very supportive of mental health. He was known for saying "turn a negative into a positive" and encouraging those around him to be optimistic whatever the circumstances. We ask for donations to Mind in his memory, to help promote mental health awareness.
