Story
Well - I did it! Had a great time, the weather held out (apart from a few snowflakes!) The video and picture to the left is of me slipping down - just for proof!
So a HUGE thank you to everyone for your kind donations! I really REALLY appreciate your support and I reached my target very quickly thanks to you all. Diageo will double this so with a few more donations I should reach a total of £1000 which is really really great andfar beyond what I thought I could reach.
So, if you've already given - thankyou so much. If you haven't....well.,...a few more sheckles should get me to the magic £500!
Thanks - Julian
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page!
A long, long time ago (Summer 2006), I attempted a freefall charity parachute jump. Sadly my jump was blown off due to high winds (was someone trying to tell me something???), then, a few months later, my mum passed away having battled a brain tumour for 5 years.
Having abseiled down the Wallace Monument a few years ago in aid of The Anthony Nolan trust (supporting Leukaemia), a friend asked if I would abseil down the Falkirk Wheel. This is a "freefall" in that you are suspended in mid air rather than being able to stand on the side of a building.
How could I resist! Click on the video to the left to see what the experience will be like!
I would like to do this in memory of mum (who wouldn't have approved of such daring events but would have supported me all the same!!)
It would be great if you were to donate in aid of this great charity - Diageo will kindly double any donations I raise so please give generously!
If you are around on Easter Sunday in the Falkirk area, why not come along to watch! Our team name is "The Dollar Danglers" and I am on at between 1-1:30pm (just after lunch - lovely!)
Thanks in advance for your support!
Julian
