Trailwalker 2015 · 24 July 2015 to 26 July 2015 ·
Beth & I took part in Trialwalker 2014 and had such an amazing time we decided to give it another go this year. It was not too hard to persuade Helen & Rob to join us, but then they are both fitness nuts!
So where does the name come from? Well three of us work for Between the Lines, otherwise known as BTL and Rob works for Virgin.
Trailwalker is 4 people walking 100 km (62.5 miles) non-stop in under 30 hours. We go from Petersfield to Brighton across the South Downs, a lovely hilly route with fabulous views if the weather is nice and very exposed if it is wet and windy. It was started over 30 years ago by the Queen's Gurkha Signals Regiment as a military training exercise to test soldiers' stamina and teamwork skills and they enter teams each year, taking 10 - 11 hours to complete. We do not expect to challenge their times! It is the 200th anniversary of Gurkha Service in the British Army this year so will be extra special to be walking alongside them.
We will be raising money for Oxfam and The Gurkha Welfare Trust, both very worthwhile charities and we are very grateful for your support.
