On the 5th August 2017 Martin aged 81 and Julie (considerably younger) set off to cycle from Lands End to John O'Groats to raise much needed funds for ACCT. It is a small Sheffield Charity which supports families and their children. They have given us and many families support with the daily challenges we face.
We have decided it's time to say 'thanks' so are taking on our own huge challenge to raise much needed funds for them.
You may think that at 81 Martin would have the biggest challenge but you would be wrong! When he retired aged 57 he bought a bike and has not stopped cycling since. His SAGA holidays consist of 70+ pensioners who fly with bicycles and ride hundreds of miles.... Inspirational!
Julie despite being younger has only been cycling for 2 years and has to squeeze training around 2 kids, 2 jobs, 2 cats and 2 hedghogs!
Julie's blog is a blow by blow account of how a single parent fits in training for the biggest and only sporting challenge of her life. Is it mission impossible or can this crazy lady train to cycle 60 to 80 miles a day, every day for 14 days? See blog: legojsite.wordpress.com
Please read, follow, and share to encourage others to help us to help ACCT.
