We fund bone cancer research & grant wishes to seriously ill people #makingmemories

Story

Hannah Francis, from Somerset, was diagnosed with aggressive bone cancer in 2015. She was just 17 years old. She was a talented event rider, two years younger than my own youngest daughter.

Before she died in August 2016 Hannah, with her family and friends, set up the Willberry Wonder Pony Charity. The charity funds bone cancer research, especially into osteosarcoma, and grants equine related wishes to seriously ill people.

Although I have always been a horse rider, I 'retired' 3 years ago but when my good friend Georgie Horrell started talking about setting up the Challenge she encouraged me to enter. I was touched by Hannah's story and I guess I didn't take much persuasion even though I didn't have a horse at the time.

Its been a scary challenge to find the right horse and start training, not to mention a lot of work to get fit and overcome the nerves. It's now or never for 2017 and I am entered for Norton Disney on the 20th October. My aim is to complete the three phases of the competition - dressage, showjumping, and cross-country, in one piece and with a smile!

Please sponsor me now and your donations will help to achieve Hannah’s dream of #kickingcancersbutt

Thank you so much!

Julie
