Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Please sponsor us. Alice Hiller, Julie Irigaray and Natalie Whittaker, three members of the Covent Garden Stanza, are hosting a Poem-A-Thon at the Poetry Cafe, Covent Garden, on Saturday 18 May. There’ll be 60 poets in a non-stop, 10-hour, from 12pm to 10pm, each poet performing for 8 minutes. We hope you can come along!  Event details are on https://poetrysociety.org.uk/event/poemathon/

What are we raising funds for? The aim of the Poem-A-Thon is to raise funds for The Poetry Society and each of the 60 poets will be hoping to get sponsorship from friends and family. Money raised will help maintain the development and upkeep of The Poetry Society premises in Covent Garden and support The Poetry Society's mission generally, advocating poetry through the delivery of education and talent-development programmes, and to continue to publish the UK’s leading poetry journal, The Poetry Review.

It's going to be a brilliant day!
