Marie Curie is here for anyone with an illness they’re likely to die from, and those close to them. Whatever the illness, wherever you are, we’re with you to the end. We bring 75 years of experience and leading research to the care we give you at home, in our hospices and over the phone.

Story

Hi guys.......yes it's me again looking for your support to raise much needed funds for Marie Curie.

After the success of my climb up Kilimanjaro, I wanted to continue to help out in whatever way I could to raise money for this amazing cause so I've signed up to trek out in Sri Lanka in November 2015. As well as being another tough physical challenge, this one is going to test my bravery as I will be facing one of my biggest fears......spiders,bugs and Snakes!!!!!!!

We will be trekking through the forests and jungle which are filled with all kinds of unfriendly critters, actually panicking as I think about it. So although this might not seem as big a challenge as climbing that mountain...to me it will be every bit as difficult.

The support I received for my killi climb was incredible and although I hope you will all be equally as generous I know there are many charities that are close to your hearts so if you are not able to donate financially maybe you would be willing to give me your time?????

I will be arranging many different fundraising events over the coming year and will be needing your help to raise as much money as possible. I will post events and dates on this page, on Facebook and on Twitter. If you see one you can help out with please please get in touch.

Marie Curie receives only 45% of their running costs from the government, the rest is made up from donations. They provide care and support for over 40,000 terminally ill people along with their families here in the uk each year. They are leaders in research into better ways of caring for people with terminal illnesses and they campaign on behalf of  patients and their families making sure they can access the highest quality care they need when they need it most. Our support is vital to allow them to continue with the amazing job they do.

I am doing this challenge in memory of my amazing friend Mandy, I know  it was her that got me to the top of that mountain and I know she will be by my side out in Sri Lanka ready to push me on when the going gets tough.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and here's hoping that along with your help, my fundraising will equal if not better my Kilimanjaro climb xxx
