Story

My dear brother Billy died 2 years ago on 29th August 2015 aged just 48 of Cancer at St John's Hospice on the Wirral.

For those who know me well, you know his story, but for those who don't ... Billy was a "lost soul" and circumstances in his life made him a wanderer. Unfortunately life's hand dealt a two sided card... he WAS found, but with a terminal illness. Devastating as it was, I'm so glad that he was at St John's Hospice to be finally warm and safe and be cared for by such a professional team. Supporting him and myself with full respect knowing how much it meant for him and myself to have our time together to say our "I love you's" and sharing memories, then finally saying goodbye...

Once I accepted the loss of Billy, I found that there's nothing that life can throw my way that is too difficult, and the loss of a loved one I found that you don't get over it , you just get through it. It doesn't get better .... just different.

So to celebrate Billy's life, I have decided to do a Charity Night Time Trek to the Summit of Mount Snowdon to watch the Sunrise which will take place Friday 8th Sept - Saturday 9th Sept 2017.

Can you imagine sitting on Mount Snowdon's Summit watching the Sunrise? Well I'm doing just that Trekking over 3000ft at NIGHT TIME  Yes you read it correctly in the middle of the night!!!

My chosen charity  is St Johns Hospice for obvious reasons, however here is a little bit of information about them.

St John's is a Hospice for adults that provides free care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses including cancer, heart, liver and kidney disease, respiratory and neurological conditions.

They provide care across a number of settings including a 16-bed Inpatient Ward, Outpatient Clinics, Day Therapy unit and  Hospice at Home service. They also provide care and support for carers and loved ones: families are at the heart of everything they do.

Please sponsor me if you can, every penny goes straight to the Hospice.

Your encouragement, support and donations will be very much appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read "My Story" 💙
