Story

We are doing this bike ride in memory of three people.  Most recently Jim Rafferty who passed away last year after a battle with cancer. Willen Hospice supported him through his last months.  Jim was a friend, he cycled with us on our last Ride for Willen Challenge in 2015.  Most people in their 60's are starting to chill out more, taking up golf or lawn bowls, but Jim loved to ride his bike and he wasn't afraid of a challenge like cycling up crazy Tour De France mountains and tackling 650 miles in a week, he helped us raise an astonishing amount to support Willen and we know he would want us to keep doing that.

We are also doing this ride in memory of Denise (Nigel's mum) who passed away from Cancer in a hospice down near Worthing back in 2014.  In her last days she made us promise to keep supporting hospices and the work that they do, so that is what we do.

Lastly for Dorothy (Julie's Nan) who passed away just before COVID hit.  She didn't need Willen Hospice, she died peacefully at home, but she was an avid supporter of their work and always raised money, donated or purchased their raffle tickets.  So we are gonna keep on supporting them in her memory.
