Story

Macmillan Caring Locally is a small charity established in 1974 and when my Dad suffered from Asbestosis in 2006 and my sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2014 and subsequently with Bone and Liver Cancer in 2018, the Macmillan team were there.

For my dad Ron they gave him a safe and supportive haven in the last few days of his life, and continued to support us a family as we grieved.  I found comfort both in the beautiful patients and relatives garden and also the memorial service organised by the macmillan team after he passed.

When my sister was diagnosed with Bone and Liver Cancer in 2018 she was regularly in immense pain and discomfort and once again was supported by the caring and dedicated team in the community.

I will never forget what Macmillan have done for my family and this is my chance to do something different this Christmas and join the largest sea dip in the UK on Christmas Day.

Please give what you can to support the 2021 Macmillan White Christmas Dip.
