Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.

As you know I have worked for the Wheatfields hospice for 23 years and for the past 19 years I have had the privilege of working as a palliative care nurse specialist in the community team. I have met many patients and families and recognise what a difference the hospice services can make for people at such difficult times in their lives. The hospice is my second family and this charity means a great deal to me. Due to the pandemic charities have lost vital funds and need  our support, therefore I’m asking people to donate and support me and Sue Ryder. On the 13th of September I was running the Great North Run (40th anniversary) to raise money for Sue Ryder,  The event has been cancelled, but between the 28th of June and the race date I am committed to doing 40 runs, whatever the weather, no matter how tired I am, I will run! Please show your support and sponsor me.
