Lands End to John O'Groats (LEJOG) · 13 June 2015

Ormiston Families supports children and families in the East of England through challenges including bereavement, mental health struggles and the imprisonment of loved ones. We give children a safe space to explore their emotions and develop coping strategies to move towards a brighter future.

Story

I decided as my 60th birthday loomed I needed a real challenge and decided the 1000 miles LEJOG (Lands End to John O'Groats) cycle ride fitted the bill. I have a super new bike - not my Cambridge old faithful - this one has drop handle bars and a properly fitted seat. The transition however has not been problem free - 1000 miles balanced on what seems to be a cheese wire, by comparison, will be an experience - so follow my progress over the next few months  to see my ups and downs and if you are inspired please give to a wonderful cause. The real reason however that I am doing this is to raise money for young people less fortunate than us.......

Ormiston Famillies reaches children other charities don't reach - it truly is the Heineken of the children's charity sector! In my mind every child deserves a great start in life and as they don't get to choose the family they are born into we need to help those less fortunate than ourselves - and in some small way help make the world a better place. Any donation small or large can make a real difference to a child's life - and all are gratefully received.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure and all the money raised goes directly to the charity.
