From November 25th to December 10th, I will be moving 5km a day as part of Refuge's 16 Days of Active-ism challenge. On any given day, Refuge supports thousands women and their children.

Anna told us why she’s taking part in the challenge:

Hayley died on Monday 8th May 2023, after fighting for her life for two days. Hayley was never scared of anything. She was so brave. She wouldn’t have been scared of dying, but she wouldn’t have wanted to die. Hayley’s two boys were her absolute world, everything she did in life she did for them.

I’ve known Hayley for so long, she was part of my life. I will live with the guilt of not doing enough to help save Hayley. I can’t do anything to help Hayley now, so if this project helps just one woman get away from her abuser, then it will all be worth it. But what if its more than one? What if we help loads of woman?
